Mr. Parreott is a retired music educator who taught for thirty plus years in the New Jersey public schools. He has a wide-ranging ability to teach and play many of the band instruments and has taught award winning jazz bands, high school marching bands, and elementary programs. Many of his former students are Broadway conductors, music arrangers, music teachers, A&R representatives, and Grammy winning producers. He can give your child a great head-start or bring you to that advanced level of audition performance you are looking for. Dorian also conducted the Central Jersey Jazz Ensemble. “Music lessons are not limited for school aged children – they are for the young at heart.”

Honors & Awards:

Dorian traveled all over Europe and India with eight-time winner of the Avant-Garde Jazz Composers Award and Pulitzer Prize winner, Henry Threadgill and his group Very, Very Circus. Dorian is heard on the recording “Too Much Sugar for a Dime”. Dorian had been a substitute and freelance performer in NYC / NJ / PA on a regular basis filling in for other professional tuba players in a variety of musical venues and situations, such as performing in many Broadway pit orchestras. Dorian has also recorded with Grammy nominated trumpeter Russell Gunn, the Jersey rock band The Beacons, and can be heard on several children’s albums; performed with Howard Johnson and his group Gravity; the David Murray Big Band; the Jambalaya Brass Band; performed with Mary Wilson; Beatlemania Reunion Shows; Glen Burtnik from STYX; performed with jazz artists James Spaulding, Oliver Lake, Lou Soloff of Blood Sweat and Tears; and many more artists. Dorian served as the musical arranger for the New Jersey Hall of Fame Awards Ceremonies for the past 6 years. Currently, Dorian is performing the Charlotte Tuba Euphonium Ensemble, also with Durham NC based Triangle Afrobeat Orchestra, and is also creating his own New Orleans Brass Band style band in the Greensboro area. He also continues to provide clinics at schools and libraries with his various tuba, saxophone, and trombone ensembles.
